Accommodation an easy Find on VisitBritain.com

The first online “find engine”, FindsYou.com, has partnered with Britain’s national tourism agency, VisitBritain, to provide the site’s 18 million users with a new, unique way to find the accommodation they want, from the vast choice available.

From April 2010, the FindsYou.com service will be available to VisitBritain users as part of the product search facility on the website www.visitbritain.com. The new find engine allows accommodation seekers to post a “wanted” advert on the site, outlining exactly what they are looking for. FindsYou.com then matches the request with suitable accommodation providers who are then able to contact the user directly.

For the first 6 months, accommodation providers are being offered the service completely free of charge. Anyone running a quality-assessed hotel, guesthouse or self- catering accommodation can register on findsyou.com to be part of the scheme.

Comments FindsYou.com CEO Guy Walker: “For accommodation seekers in the UK, we expect it to be a major success, as it’s simple, eliminates the leg-work of timely searches and delivers results quickly. Our recent research shows that although the majority of people use the internet to source accommodation, they’re increasingly disillusioned with faceless booking systems. The Findsyou.com service re-introduces the personal contact that most customers prefer.”

VisitBritain Product Database Manager Ian Hardwick adds: “We’re always looking for new ways to improve the service that we offer to both accommodation providers and the millions who want to explore the UK, and we’re confident that this new service will provide added value to the industry by helping website users to contact them.”
